The estimable London 4-piece Turin Brakes are delighted to announce a UK Acoustic Tour starting Autumn 2019. The band – founder members and former primary school friends Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanian, along with longtime bandmates Rob Allum and Eddie Myer – are one the finest indie bands of the last two decades.
This is a chance to see the band in their first full stripped back acoustic tour since way back in 2002. They will be playing a range of songs spanning their 20 year career – which includes seven top 40 singles and 6 top 40 albums with sales over a million worldwide.
SOUND OF THE SIRENS
Westcountry folk-rock duo Sound of the Sirens released brand new album This Time in early 2019 on independent label DMF Records. They are playing festivals in 2019 including Larmer Tree, Boardmasters and Beautiful Days plus they have just announced more shows in late 2019 and early 2020.
“’This Time’ is a collection of moments, emotions, challenges and stories,” say the duo. “We’ve collected lyrics, melodies and ideas from the past couple of years for this project. We created this album last winter in an isolated barn in Wales with only guitars, a piano, wine and the dogs for company. The themes of time, love, loss, perseverance, hope and clarity are intertwined in these songs.”
Throughout the album, Sound Of The Sirens – duo Abbe Martin and Hannah Wood – blend intoxicating vocal harmonies with beautifully crafted instrumentals to create a seamless collection of captivating tracks. ‘Troubles’, the first track to be taken from the album, is a rousing and emotive ode to overcoming issues, amid inspiring lyricism and graceful cadences.
Their live shows combine a natural facility for connecting with their audiences and unforgettable performances with warmth, humour and, above all, real conviction. Their debut album For All Our Sins was released in 2017 to wide praise including from R2 Magazine who called it a “stunning debut collection”.
