Gascan Ruckus, a Belfast based, Punk Rock/Power Pop four-piece, have been terrorising the locality with melodious nonsense since they emerged from rural Armagh in 2008 with a smattering of EPs, singles and a hell of a lot of sass.
Their 2012 seminal EP; ‘Buddies’ revealed a more melodic side to the riff centric, classic-rock of previous efforts. Since ‘Buddies’, Gascan Ruckus have started to draw more comparisons to Grunge-Pop band Dinosaur Pile-up and Power Pop kingpins Weezer with thankfully, less comparisons to Whitesnake.
After a brief hiatus, they returned to Belfast to write and record their debut full length in the winter of 2014, clutching to their unpopular and ill-advised mission statement of writing ‘pop songs for Sabbath fans’.
Having released the first single ‘Goodbye’ earlier this year in 2015, the album titled ‘Narrow defeats and Bitter Victories’ was released on the 29th of January 2016, with their sell out headline show to date in The Empire in Belfast.
