Pop Up Presents... Music Against Homelessness
Last year over 100 MAH gigs and festivals featuring more than 500 bands and artists took place over a 4 week period in England, Scotland and Wales.
The twin aims of the project are to raise vital funds for our chosen homeless charities and to provide gig opportunities for up-and-coming bands.
We’re extremely pleased and proud to extend our support this year to Simon Community Northern Ireland , the leading homeless charity and service provider. Simon Community NI is a voluntary organisation which provides emergency accommodation, advice and community support for people who are homeless or those who are at risk of becoming homeless. http://www.simoncommunity.org
Pop Up is proud to partner with MAH a not for profit, with all proceeds Simon Community in Northern Ireland. The incredible artists lending their support to the cause this year in the Empire are Mmode, Silences and Bassh.
Bassh is a collaborative project led by Northern Irelands own Jimmy Brown which includes many live musicians, producers, mixers, songwriters etc. It began in 2015 when Brown (lead singer/guitar) teamed up with Grammy nominated producer Bill Reynolds who is also the bassist for "Band Of Horses". They created their cult hit "Body" which received significant airplay in the USA from taste maker stations like WRLT, XPN, WNRN and many more. Bassh has been enjoying live success playing club dates and festivals across the USA and we're delighted to have Bassh help the cause."
Silences is the music project of Conchúr White. Since being joined by his cousin Breandán White, and close friends Christopher Harbinson, Michael Keyes and Jonathan Downing they have went onto release three critically acclaimed EPs. 'Nevernames', 'Sister Snow' and 'Luna'.
MMode the latest project by Lucy & Thomas Gaffney (formerly known as "Southern") promises to deliver something very special coming off the launch of their new single 'Waiting In the Desert' launched on 4th August.
